On behalf of our client, Victoria Foundation, we are searching for a professional Senior Accountant to join their Finance team in Victoria, BC, in an 18-month term position, with the potential for extension.

  • Competitive salary of, $65,000 to $75,000 per annum, commensurate with your experience

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Accountant

  • Prepare and review financial reports, dashboards, and Board reporting materials
  • Prepare and review financial transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Support the preparation of fund statements and monitor fund activity
  • Assist with CRA and regulatory reporting (GST, T4A, T3, T3010)
  • Collaborate across teams to streamline processes and strengthen internal controls
  • Conduct financial analysis and research to support policy development
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on financial matters
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

What you bring with you

  • CPA designation (recently qualified) with 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in not-for-profit or public practice
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASNPO, and CRA reporting and filings
  • Familiarity with investment reporting, with an interest in developing further in this area
  • Proficiency in Office 365, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and comfort working with financial systems
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements, manage complex transactions, and support process improvements
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and clear communication skills
