Our client, Wingspan Capital, has a new opportunity in Victoria, BC, for a Controller to join their collaborative finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, in this management position you will execute and oversee the financial compliance and efficiency of the operating entities under Wingspan Capital, including Royal LePage Brokerages and CarePoint Medical and Wellness Centres.

What could your day as Controller hold?
Financial Administration:
- Oversee and complete financial tasks, including month-end statements, bank reconciliations, and recordkeeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Plan and remit taxes, prepare year-end files, and support audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
Human Resource Management and Payroll:
- Manage financial administration staff, ensuring compliance with BC Employment Standards and company policies, while overseeing staffing structures across finance, conveyance, and billing teams.
- Support team leads and managers in addressing financial errors, remedying implications, and facilitating informed financial decision-making.
Strategic Financial Reporting:
- Participate on the Management Team, providing updates on metrics, performance, realtor feedback, and compliance.
- Prepare and manage the budgeting and forecasting process, including monthly budget reports and analysis.
- Identify and monitor key financial metrics and areas of risk, bringing insights to management’s attention.

Our ideal Controller candidate brings:
- An Accounting or Finance diploma and a CPA designation is required.
- 2+ years of post-qualification experience is required, with experience in the private sector preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, GAAP, and legislation.
- Experience managing and coaching financial teams is beneficial.
- Excellent computer skills including G-suite and Microsoft 365 with proficiency in Lone Wolf, QuickBooks, Xero, and EMRs beneficial to conduct a full range of financial tasks.
- Proven experience with online banking platforms.
