Opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continuous development of GNS by overseeing the financial and operational functions of the school.

On behalf of our client Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) we have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic and people-oriented Chief Financial and Operations Officer to join their senior leadership team in Victoria, BC.  Reporting to the Head of the School, the Chief Financial and Operations Officer will help create and pursue GNS’s vision, mission, and values, and play a pivotal role in the continuous development of the school by overseeing the financial and operational functions of the school, ensuring the effective and sustainable management of resources to support the educational mission at GNS. As an innovative and results-driven professional, the Chief Financial and Operations Officer will build upon the unprecedented period of growth the school currently enjoys and lead efforts to make an already great school truly exceptional.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within a school environment coupled with 10+ years of leadership experience in managing multiple teams and portfolios, with demonstrated experience at a senior level with boards in dynamic environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration, or related clinical discipline.
  • Innate talent to effectively lead, engage, motivate, strengthen capabilities, and promote teams in building and maintaining a strong organizational culture.
  • Experience in working with budget, financial controls, and risk management for organizations of similar complexity and scope, ideally within a non-profit environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the principles and practices of organizational management, continuous quality improvement, ideally in an education-based environment.
  • Completion of an active professional accounting designation is considered a significant asset.
