On behalf of our client Congregation Emanu-El we are seeking a dedicated part-time (7-10 hours per week) Facilities and Cemetery Caretaker in Victoria, BC, to help them steward their sacred spaces with care and respect.

What you will do in the role:
In this role, you’ll help preserve and care for two meaningful spaces in our community. You’ll oversee the general upkeep of the synagogue, coordinate contractors, and take on minor repairs to ensure the building remains welcoming and functional. At the cemetery, you’ll maintain the sacred grounds with care, tending to pathways, plantings, and equipment. You’ll also provide compassionate support during burials, working closely with clergy, families, and service providers to ensure all arrangements are handled with respect and dignity.

Our ideal Facilities and Cemetery Caretaker brings:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in caretaking, landscaping, or facilities management is preferred
- Working knowledge of minor maintenance duties, maintaining equipment functions and inventory, arranging for servicing when required, including Health and Safety regulations/protocols and WHIMIS principles
- Knowledge or experience in Jewish customs and practices, is an asset
- Physical ability to perform outdoor and manual tasks in all weather
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Drivers Abstract and access to a personal vehicle (required)
