Our client, Quester Tangent, is growing, and they have a new hybrid opportunity for a Software Team Supervisor to join their talented, collaborative team in Victoria, BC. What could your day as a Software Team Supervisor hold?

The Software Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing execution of Quester Tangent’s application-level software development, test and release related to external projects, internal products, and internal tools. This will include:

  • Leading and supporting a team of developers and testers to deliver high quality software releases on time and within scope, while fostering team growth through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  • Planning and allocating team resources in collaboration with the Software Development Manager to support active projects, escalations and long-term corporate priorities.
  • Overseeing software development processes, including milestone tracking, change approvals, documentation standards compliance and ERP related activities.
  • Partnering cross functionally with Operations and other internal stakeholders to communicate roadmap updates, coordinate priorities and support forecasting and planning activities.

Our ideal Software Team Supervisor brings:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive software development experience, including at least 3 years leading and developing high performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering customized software solutions to multiple clients, including estimation, resource planning and load levelling.
  • Strong technical background with hands on development experience in C++, C# and JavaScript, and knowledge of white and black box testing methodologies.
  • Proven ability to plan and coordinate concurrent development activities across cross functional teams.
  • Experience with recruitment and hiring; Scrum Master or Team Lead certification or experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%) primarily within Canada and the United States.
  • Valid passport and authorization (visa) required to travel to customer locations.
  • Security clearance may be required, depending on project assignments and client requirements.
